KILON LEC Multiwall
For rooflights, roofs and facades, and data centre hot aisle containment systems.
The KILON LEC range delivers high-performance daylighting polycarbonate with lower embodied carbon than the standard Kingspan versions of the same product, while maintaining durability and performance.
Our Two LEC Products
For rooflights, roofs and facades, and data centre hot aisle containment systems.
For glazing, screening and safety applications. Both are made at our Daylighting Centre of Excellence in Kingscourt, Ireland.
Recycled content
The resin in KILON LEC is a 50/50 mix of post-consumer recycled polycarbonate and standard polycarbonate. The post-consumer waste is collected, cleaned, sorted and shredded before being blended with prime polymer at our facilities.

Polycarbonate Multiwall Sheet
Up to 56.4% lower embodied carbon (A1–A3) than standard KILON Multiwall, a saving of 2.98 kg CO₂e per kg of product.
KILON LEC Multiwall panels are made from high-performance polycarbonate resin with 50% recycled content. Their multiwall structure is light, insulating and weatherproof, letting in natural daylight to reduce the need for artificial lighting and supporting lower heating and cooling demand.

Polycarbonate Solid Sheet · New
Up to 37.4% lower embodied carbon (A1–A3) than standard KILON Solid Sheet, a saving of 1.46 kg CO₂e per kg of product.
KILON LEC Solid Sheet is a versatile glazing material made with 50% post-consumer waste. It is easy to process and can be thermoformed or cold-curved on site, and its high impact resistance makes it suitable for screening, visors, guards, safety glazing and specialist roofing.

FAQs
LEC stands for Lower Embodied Carbon. LEC products have lower embodied carbon than the equivalent standard Kingspan product, proven by comparing third-party verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
Two changes drive the reduction: the polycarbonate resin contains 50% post-consumer recycled content, and the raw material is sourced from suppliers closer to our manufacturing site in Ireland.
Yes. Each KILON LEC product and its standard equivalent has an EPD published by Institut Bauen und Umwelt e.V. (IBU), externally verified to ISO 14025 and EN 15804+A2. You can use these EPDs in your project carbon assessment.
These are life cycle modules defined in EN 15804. A1–A3 is the product stage: raw materials, transport to the factory and manufacturing. A–C is the full life cycle, adding transport and installation (A4–A5), use (B) and end of life (C). Full life cycle results depend on the end-of-life scenario, such as recycling, incineration with energy recovery or landfill.
Product-specific, third-party verified EPDs can be used as evidence for embodied carbon credits in schemes such as LEED, BREEAM and the Home Performance Index. Talk to our team about your project requirements.
Yes. KILON LEC can be recycled into polycarbonate granulate, and the EPDs include a recycling end-of-life scenario.
