Making a Difference Where We Live and Work

From tree planting and beach clean-ups to clean water for schools in Kenya, our people give their time and support to the causes they care about.

Being Planet Passionate goes beyond carbon and materials — it's also about the people and places around us. Kingspan Light, Air + Water supports its local and global communities through charity partnerships and volunteering, backing causes our teams care about.

Our Partnership with Just a Drop

Through our partnership with Just a Drop, the international safe water charity, we support sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) projects in Kenya — one of the world's most water-scarce countries, where large areas are arid or semi-arid and prone to severe drought. It's a natural fit as water is at the heart of our division. As a business that helps buildings harvest, store and manage water, we're helping communities build resilience to water scarcity where it's needed most. Founded in 1998, Just a Drop now works across seven countries, and every project it delivers is community-owned and monitored for five to seven years after completion — so the impact lasts long after the work is done.

Nthongoni Secondary School

Our first and largest project to date. The Africa Sand Dam Foundation built a rainwater harvesting tank together with the Kumina Wauni Self Help Group, giving 313 children and teachers a clean, on-site water supply and setting the tone for the partnership that followed.

Menstrual Hygiene Programme

We funded training for 259 people to set up small businesses sewing reusable menstrual pads, including the Self Help Group at Kathambu. The programme broke down taboos around menstruation while generating an income — tackling a barrier that keeps many girls out of the classroom.

Nthaatwa & Malatani Primary Schools

404 students now have easier to clean water thanks to the installation of rainwater harvesting tanks, alongside hygiene education and pupil-led Health Clubs. Previously, children often carried water to school each morning, leaving them tired before the school day began.

St Stephen Musalala Secondary School

In arid Makueni County, the school currently buys in water that is dirty and rationed. Our latest project is changing that by providing 224 children and teachers with a safe, reliable water supply of their own. Work is progressing well, and the project is expected to be completed soon.

Making a Difference Together

Our community work goes beyond financial support. It gives our people the opportunity to play an active role in creating positive change, through volunteering and fundraising, and to see the impact of their contributions first-hand.

Colleagues have visited Just a Drop project sites in Kenya, witnessing how rainwater harvesting transforms daily life for communities with limited access to clean water. Together, these efforts create lasting benefits for local communities while building a deeper connection to the impact we can achieve as a team.
